Service overview
Signal projects done properly
Traffic lights, or robots, control conflicting traffic movements at intersections, pedestrian crossings and site entrances. They are safety-critical systems, so every project needs careful design, the right equipment, reliable power and proper testing.
We handle enquiries for traffic signal supply, vehicle and pedestrian signal heads, signal poles and mounting accessories, and temporary traffic signals for roadworks and events. We also coordinate maintenance and fault assessment for existing installations.
Signal design, installation and commissioning are scoped with appropriately qualified specialists and the relevant authority. Supplying equipment does not include approval to operate a signal on a public road; that approval rests with the responsible road authority.
Suited to

Planning your project
What a signal project involves
Public-road and private-site applications
Signals on public roads are controlled by the relevant road authority, which approves designs and operation. Private sites such as mines, ports and large estates may use signals to control internal traffic, but the same principles of safe design and clear operation apply. We confirm the application at the start of every enquiry.
Signal design and control requirements
Signal design covers the number of approaches, phases, timings, pedestrian movements and detection. Controllers manage these sequences. Design is carried out by appropriately qualified specialists, and the equipment we supply follows the approved design and specification.
Power, cabling and supporting infrastructure
Signals need a dependable power supply, cabling, ducting and controller housing, and may need backup power. Civil and electrical work is carried out by suitably qualified contractors and is scoped separately where required.
- Power supply and backup
- Cabling and ducting
- Controller cabinet and foundations
Installation, testing and maintenance coordination
Installation and commissioning include testing the signal sequences and equipment before the signal is switched on. Ongoing maintenance and fault response keep signals working safely. We coordinate these activities with the relevant specialists and authority.
Temporary signals for roadworks and events
Temporary traffic signals can control single-lane closures at roadworks or manage traffic at events. They are planned with the responsible authority, placed with suitable warning signs and monitored during operation. Please share dates, locations and lane-closure details when you enquire.
Planning ahead for signal projects
Signal projects involve several parties, from designers and electrical contractors to the road authority. Early planning helps align approvals, equipment lead times and installation. We coordinate the parts of the project within our scope and keep you informed throughout.
